Decision Making Process

  • Agreement to use consensus model

Core Values

  • Last year: local, sustainable, organic. vegetarian with vegan options
  • Samantha Sanford—connection to food buying co-op? Mike will email her
  • Consensus to keep same values for this year
  • Concern regarding food miles: 100 mile radius
  • Will use chart with in season fruits/veggies
  • We will follow the order of the values

Communications

  • Options include: RSF Purplecircles, londoncommons, LAN
  • Will use freewiki to post minutes… Mike to take responsibility
  • Also use to list recipes, ingredients etc.
  • Mike gave a freewiki tutorial—others may need this as well

Brainstorm a Timeline

  • Week of (June 17th-23rd):
  • need to have arranged for storage at mt st joe’s
  • pick up produce
  • pre-cooking groups
  • Month before:
  • permission in April (before board meeting) to order in May to arrive in June (FOOD CO-OP)
  • Other dates:
  • establish menu by May
  • establish quantities by May
  • contact dairy in Stratford--Sheila
  • Farms: Rose’s, organic delivery: how much is available and what is available (know by end of April)
  • get recipes in April
  • tasting party in April/May
  • brainstorming menu/recipes=ongoing
  • figure out budget ASAP

Working List of Tasks

this will be ongoing, we will add things as they come up

  • Put together menu
  • Order list and ordering… multiple people for multiple sites
  • Storage space—contact places
  • Find groups for prepping meals ahead of time
  • Scope out the kitchen
  • Donations for equipment and utensils
  • Contact food coop
  • Establishing budget
  • Approximate # of people to feed: establish a date before ordering that we can know
  • Where can we scramble?
  • Brainstorm some snacks for the evening

Meal Plan

  • Thursday – lunch (30), dinner (30), snacks (10)
  • Friday – breakfast, lunch (50), dinner (100), snacks (30)
  • Saturday – breakfast, lunch (200), dinner (200), snacks (50)
  • Sunday – breakfast, lunch (200)

  • Stew needs to be thawed, burgers that fell apart and too much work, no miso soup
  • Things that were good: gazpatcho, tempeh cashew rice = good but expensive, lasagnas, granola, salad with citrus dressing, chili, wraps, bean salad
  • New suggestions: quinoa & wild rice salad, vegetable curry with basmati rice, salad with every meal

Random Discussions

  • We talked about Cory Morningstar’s Slow Food Project but are unsure as to exactly how to would like to be involved. Sheleena will email her.
  • We need to clarify the policy regarding offsite kitchen inspections in order to have people cook for us
  • Programs to contact: Chris from Ross Highschool, Northwestern Stratford Guy, BGCL café and seniors
